“Is this your first photo in national print?”

This was the text I received from Fiona Shoults this week.

I’d literally just woke up and looked at my phone, slightly confused!

I opened the WhatsApp message to see an image of a magazine article, and there were two photos I had taken in summer, published in Woman’s Weekly!

Fiona had mentioned to me that she had been writing an article for a magazine about her journey from being diagnosed with breast cancer, to now being a medical and cosmetic tattooist who helps women (and some men) who have been through the same experience.

Her many talents include areola tattooing, as well as eyebrows and scar camouflage - she is amazing!

As Fiona always says: “It’s not vanity, it’s normality.”

I had no idea that Fiona had chosen two of the photos I had taken of her, to use with the article!

So yes, this is my first photo in national print!

And I couldn’t be prouder of it being alongside this amazing article.

Congratulations Fiona! You are an inspiration!
