What Happens at Content and Cocktails: A Look Inside the Workshop
"I have a shotgun approach. Posting when something happens."
That's how one attendee described her social media before she walked into Content and Cocktails in June. Sound familiar?
If you've been thinking about coming to the workshop and wondering what actually happens BTS, whether it's worth your money, your time, and a childcare favour, this is the honest walkthrough.
First, what it isn't
It's not a lecture where someone talks at you for four hours about algorithms.
It's not a sales pitch disguised as a workshop.
And it's not one of those events where you leave with a notebook full of scribbles, a warm fuzzy feeling, and absolutely no idea what to do on Monday morning.
What it actually is
Content and Cocktails is a half-day social media strategy workshop for small business owners. You arrive with a business and a vague sense that your social media should be working harder. You leave with an actual strategy, in your hands, built by you, for your business.
Here's the journey we go on together:
Why strategy comes before content. We start by breaking the habit that keeps most small business owners stuck: posting first, thinking later.
Goals that shape your posts. Not "get more followers". Real goals, tied to enquiries, sales, and the life you're trying to build around your business.
Your ideal client. We build a persona so real you could pick them out at the school gate. Once you know exactly who you're talking to, writing posts stops feeling like shouting into the void.
Choosing your platforms. Spoiler: You don't need to be on all of them. You'll pick one or two, on purpose, and give yourself permission to ignore the rest.
Your content topics and the 50/30/20 mix. What you want to be known for, and the balance of posts that attract new people, build trust, and actually ask for the sale.
Your repeatable content plan. This is where it all clicks. You'll map out a plan you can repeat again and again, so you never stare at a blank screen wondering what to post.
All of it goes into your workbook, which is yours to keep. In June, the workbook was the thing people raved about most. One attendee called it "so good and great to look back on", which is exactly the point. This isn't a one-day buzz. It's a system you take home.
And yes, you get a Mocktail and lunch included. Because strategy is better with snacks.
Don't take my word for it
Every single person who filled in the June feedback form rated the workshop 5 out of 5. Every single one said they'd recommend it to another small business owner.
Here's what they said, in their own words:
"Very useful, and I actually got a useable strategy for going forward."
"It gives you a structured pathway to follow on how to create your content without having to overthink it."
"Easy to understand while making you work and think."
"So much helpful info and guidance."
And my personal favourite piece of feedback? The most common request was more time. People didn't want it to end. I can live with that.
Who it's for
You'll get the most out of Content and Cocktails if you:
Run a small business and do your own social media
Are tired of winging it and posting whenever you remember
Want a plan that fits around your actual life, school runs, client work and all
Are willing to do the thinking on the day, this is a workshop, not a spectator sport
If you want someone to just take social media off your plate entirely, or you're after overnight viral fame, this isn't the room for you. I'd rather tell you that now.

One last thing
The people who came in June didn't leave with vague inspiration. They left saying things like "I'm going to stick to a planned strategy rather than winging it" and "I'll be more deliberate and planned in my posts".
That shift, from winging it to knowing exactly what you're doing and why, happens in one afternoon.
September is your afternoon. Grab your seat before someone else does.
